La Ronde, Six Flags Montreal, is a wonderfully fun amusement park located on an island in the Saint-Lawrence River, which runs to the south of the Island of Montreal, Quebec.  My girlfriend and I have enjoyed the park on numerous occasions (a Season Pass is the best way to enjoy the park if you even THINK you’ll go more than two times in the same year!)  Here are a few photos from one of our adventures there; this one happens to be at night, which is unusual for us.  We normally enjoy it during the day.  The photo above is available as a wall hanging in my Fine Art gallery as well!

Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii – 5 image HDR taken handheld with a 1DMkIV & EF 16mm f/2.8 L II USM rented from HawaiiCamera.com.  Click on the photo to see my Fine Art gallery where you can find the photo and others available for wall prints.

When traveling, what are things you look for?  Beauty and adventure?  Warm, genuine people?  Lots to do but without having to plan a month to do it all?  Someplace exotic yet still close to home?  These all describe Hawaii perfectly, and I was fortunate enough to live there for several years, and even met my girlfriend there!  After six months in the south of France, I returned to Hawaii for a couple of weeks for a working vacation.  By work, I mean taking surfing photos of the toursits that came to Waikiki beach to learn to surf while in Hawaii.  Here’s an example of one of these fellows now:

As you can see, it’s not always fun & games.  I was happy to return to shooting surfing photos in Hawaii, and have yet to returned (this was in Sept of 2010).

The last few days have been a mess down at the capitol building in Wisconsin.  I decided to poke around for a couple hours and see what was going on…
